Review of Airalab’s Robonomics project
Robots and the process of robotization is a controversial issue, and requires a basic understanding of relationships between humans and robots. Humanity is divided into two groups: those who support robotization and those who are against it. Nevertheless, both groups are afraid of a “Rising of the Machines”, because it is very difficult to predict a robot’s behavior. To prevent this type of problem from occurring, the developers of the Robonomics network suggest building mutually beneficial relations between humans and robots. Such relations can be reached with the help of economic incentives.
Airalab presents the Robonomics Network: a solution to the problem of regulating the interactions between humans and robots. The platform meets the requirements of modern society, and brings robotization to the next level by using blockchain technology in the structure of the system.
Let’s consider what the Robonomics Network is and how it works
The Robonomics network is a decentralized platform that enables direct robot-to-robot and robot-to-human communication by creating a marketplace of robot liability contracts. The usage of blockchain technology eliminates centralized third-party intermediaries and makes the network transparent and reliable.
The platform is based on the Ethereum blockchain and uses all the benefits of Ethereum smart contracts. The project code is open source.

Network token, XRT
The Robonomics token (XRT) provides the basic operational aspect of the system for the maintenance of Smart Cities and Industry 4.0 in the Ethereum infrastructure. XRT also regulates and stimulates the development of the ecosystem.
The first phase of the tokensale was in May 2017, and raised 5,000 ETH. The second phase token sale is expected in the near future.
Use cases
The project’s primary use cases allow to:
- build trust in the services and products produced by smart cities and factories;
- direct user access to autonomous cyber-physical systems;
- manage multi-agent systems with the help of capital.
The use cases:
Decentralized IoT Data Marketplace: Trade data collected by IoT devices and sensors without intermediaries
Industry 4.0: Direct communication between consumers and smart factories, and among smart factories
Trackable Supply Chain: a transparent history of goods and services
Autonomous Service Providers: Robot-performed services in smart cities
Development
The team has worked tirelessly over the past several years, and is now launching the testnet version of their product.
